So when it came to celebrating their 10th anniversary, Maddox turned once again to a trusted collaborator: Wildabout.
Wildabout has worked with Maddox Gallery since its inception, creating floral installations that have become as distinctive as the gallery itself. In fact, Wildabout was at the forefront of a movement in 2018 that saw floristry spill onto the streets, with installations flowing across shopfronts, galleries, and restaurants, capturing attention and sparking a new era of floral artistry in London. While Maddox hadn’t commissioned an installation for a few years, their milestone 10th anniversary was the perfect occasion to reignite the collaboration. This time, the brief was open, no fixed theme, but with a desire for something atmospheric and celebratory.
Wildabout responded with an autumnal palette of fiery reds, warm coffee tones, and golden hues, echoing the richness of the season while paying homage to the passion and energy of contemporary art.
The installation was designed as an immersive statement piece, a vibrant, sculptural arrangement that radiated warmth and festivity. It was less about following trends and more about capturing the gallery’s spirit: bold, visionary, and always ahead of the curve.
For Wildabout, this wasn’t simply a floral commission, it was an opportunity to translate a decade of creativity into flowers. Each bloom was chosen for its intensity, depth, and movement, echoing the gallery’s commitment to contemporary voices and fresh perspectives.
The result? A composition that blurs the line between art and floristry, drawing visitors in from the streets of Mayfair and setting the stage for Maddox’s anniversary showcase.
The installation was unveiled alongside Maddox’s anniversary exhibition, marking “Ten Years of Maddox” as more than just a retrospective, it became a living celebration of vision, passion, and community.
