With the UK currently in the middle of a heatwave, we’ve been thinking a lot about summer weddings that fully embrace the sunshine. The kind where guests feel like they’ve escaped abroad for the weekend, without ever leaving the English countryside. This celebration at Wilderness Reserve captured that feeling perfectly.

Set around the incredible Sibton Pool, the atmosphere felt relaxed, stylish, and completely transportive. Hidden within the Suffolk estate, Sibton Pool is unlike anywhere else in the UK wedding world. Surrounded by nature and open countryside, it has the energy of a private retreat rather than a traditional wedding venue. There’s something cinematic about it. Especially in the height of summer.

For Dave and Gitta’s wedding celebrations, guests gathered poolside for an afternoon of sunshine, music, cocktails, and long lunches. It was relaxed and intimate, giving everyone time to properly switch off and enjoy being together across the wedding weekend.

The styling had a subtle Wes Anderson influence. Playful details, soft colour, beautiful table settings, and an effortless sense of cool. Nothing felt too formal. The setting itself did so much of the work.

One of the things we love most about Wilderness Reserve is how versatile the estate feels. Every part of the celebration can unfold in a completely different setting while still feeling connected. Guests move through the estate almost like chapters of a story. From elegant dinners to countryside ceremonies, then suddenly finding themselves beside a pool that feels more South of France than Suffolk.

Wildabout designed the florals across the wider wedding celebrations, including multiple events across the estate. For the poolside setting, the floral styling was intentionally lighter and more understated. We wanted the atmosphere, the styling, and the uniqueness of Sibton Pool to remain the focus.

Instead of large-scale installations, we created smaller floral moments that softened the tables and complemented the relaxed mood of the day. Sometimes restraint creates far more impact than filling every corner with flowers. Especially in a setting as strong as this one.

As more couples move towards multi-day wedding experiences, venues like Wilderness Reserve are becoming increasingly sought after. Couples want guests to feel immersed in the celebration rather than simply attending one event. Spaces like Sibton Pool allow weddings to feel layered, personal, and genuinely memorable.

And during a British heatwave like this one, it’s hard not to dream about a countryside pool party that feels this effortlessly cool.
