There are few places in London where history, nostalgia, and festive charm meet quite as effortlessly as The Clermont Victoria. Originally built in 1862 as The Grosvenor Hotel, this Grade II listed landmark has long been a gateway to London, welcoming travellers from all corners of the country with Victorian splendour and unmistakable warmth.

This year, Wildabout brought that spirit to life with our floral interpretation of ‘Travel Home for Christmas’: a celebration of railway heritage, comfort, and the timeless joy of returning to somewhere familiar.

Nostalgia, Railway Elegance & Festive Magic

Inspired by the hotel’s origins as one of London’s great railway hotels, Wildabout leaned into a palette and aesthetic that evokes the feeling of bustling platforms, steam-lit journeys, and the anticipation of arriving home for the holidays.

The result?

A Wildabout-signature installation full of warm lights, rich textures, polished seasonal details, and an unmistakable sense of nostalgia.

Think:

  • Deep reds and garnet tones, reminiscent of vintage railway upholstery
  • Brass and gold accents, echoing the hotel’s own historic ironwork
  • Grand ribbons and traditional ornaments, layered with modern Wildabout refinement
  • Candlelit warmth, softening the architecture and enhancing the Victorian mood

Guests stepping into The Clermont Victoria this festive season are greeted by florals that feel both luxurious and familiar, a nod to the railway era, wrapped in contemporary Christmas elegance.

A London Christmas Through a Traveller’s Lens

Just steps from Victoria Station and a short stroll from Buckingham Palace, The Clermont Victoria remains one of the capital’s most conveniently placed hotels for holiday travellers. Its surroundings, twinkling streets, bustling shops, and London’s iconic festive ambience, set the tone beautifully for a season of celebration, connection, and comfort.

Wildabout leaned into this narrative:
the Christmas journey, the London landmark, the feeling of returning to a place that feels like home.

Victorian Grandeur Meets Modern Festive Style

Designed by James Thomas Knowles, The Clermont Victoria is a masterpiece of Victorian design. High ceilings, sweeping staircases, gilded details, chandeliers, and even real gold leaf in the lobby create a striking canvas for seasonal floristry.

Wildabout’s design approach always begins with the building itself, and here, the architecture does much of the talking. Our festive florals enhance rather than overpower, honouring the original grandeur while introducing soft festive glow.

Every installation was created to complement:

  • The linearity and symmetry of Victorian design
  • The warmth of the hotel’s contemporary refurbishments
  • The flow of guests arriving checking in for a festive London stay
  • The storytelling at the heart of The Clermont brand

From entrance arrangements to lobby features, the overall concept brings together heritage and modernity in a way that feels uniquely Clermont.

The Warmest Welcome This Winter

Whether guests are staying the night, visiting for a festive drink, or simply passing through the station next door, Wildabout’s festive transformation offers a sense of homecoming.

A cosy Christmas at  The Clermont Victoria  is more than lights and greenery,
It’s warmth.
It’s nostalgia.
It’s the familiar joy of arriving somewhere that feels welcoming, golden, and full of magic.

And the question is…
Have you booked your winter stay yet?
