January marked our first event of the year at one of London’s most iconic addresses, The Lanesborough, a setting synonymous with timeless elegance, impeccable service, and understated grandeur.

Designed for a gentleman’s black-tie birthday dinner, this intimate celebration embraced a rich and confident colour palette of burgundy, deep red and navy, accented with crisp white anemones. The result was a tablescape that felt refined, masculine, and quietly luxurious, perfectly in keeping with both the occasion and the venue itself.

The Lanesborough is a space that demands sensitivity in design. Its heritage interiors, classical proportions and sense of occasion mean florals must enhance rather than compete. For this event, the focus was on depth of tone, texture, and balance, allowing the flowers to complement the room’s architecture while bringing warmth and intimacy to the table.

White anemones were chosen to cut through the deeper hues, adding clarity and contrast without softening the overall mood. Combined with layered linens, candlelight and considered styling, the florals played a supporting but essential role in setting the tone for the evening.

This event was also a beautiful example of what can be achieved through strong creative collaboration. Working alongside Antoinette Lettieri, purveyor of London’s most glamorous events, ensured every detail felt intentional and seamlessly executed. From production to placement, each element worked in harmony to create an experience that felt effortless for guests, and memorable long after the last course was served.

At Wildabout, we love creating florals for celebrations like this, moments where restraint, confidence and detail matter just as much as impact. Black-tie events, particularly within heritage venues, require a considered approach rooted in experience, not trends.

We loved bringing this evening to life and starting the year with a project that perfectly reflects our approach to luxury event design.
